If you are near the river Charlies is a decent place to stop and grab a bite to eat. It's not too cheap but it's not too expensive by todays standards either. The bar has a nice atmosphere and usually has pretty good service. I liked the steaks I have eaten here and I would recommend giving it a try.

Camped at Tickfaw State Park April 2024 and gave Charlie's a try. Could not have been more pleased. The chef is great with large portions of tasty treats. The price is very reasonable. Try the sugarcane vinaigrette on salads and the stuffed mushrooms are amazing. Everything we tried was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed the fried catfish and nice atmosphere. Service was very good. Onion rings were very good, too.

This is a great place to go for some great seafood. We generally stop sometimes after spending the day boating on the river. The food is always fresh and hot and seasoned to perfection. With all the COVID pandemic happening and places slowly opening back up, things just don't feel the same. Usually, service is top-notch and your food is out in normal time 15-20 minutes. This time it took over an hour to get our food and we seated before two other tables and yet they got their food before us. Yes, I asked where our order was and our server (very polite and apologetic), told us it is being plated but she put all three of her tables in at the same time and it happened to be ours got put in last. Honest mistake. Other than the long wait for our food, everything was great and you definitely get your money's worth. Advice; if you order Charlie's platter. Order it for two people to eat it as it is enough to probably feed 3 people. Also don't order the seafood potato as an appetizer because that is a meal in itself. The fried alligator bites are a must.
